On July 8, 2024, during the review of the 'Public Officials Election and Recall Law Amendment Bill' in the Legislative Yuan Internal Administration Committee, there was a physical altercation involving lawmakers Lin Chuyin, Wang Hongwei, and Hsu Chia-hsin. Lin accused Wang of physically assaulting her, but Wang countered that she was merely retaliating. Wang stated that Lin initiated the attack, and even other DPP lawmakers got involved. Hsu Chia-hsin corroborated the incident. Wang later provided a medical report and filed a complaint against Lin for assault.
