Legislator Lin Tai-hua raised concerns during an Internal Administration Committee meeting, pointing out the discrepancy in allowances for grassroots police officers in different cities in Taiwan. Despite a 15% increase in the diligence allowance introduced by the government last July, cities like Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung only receive 70% of the allowance compared to Taipei and New Taipei. Lin questioned the fairness of this situation, urging the government to standardize the allowance nationwide and ensure equal pay for equal work, particularly for those serving on the front lines. Lin emphasized the importance of recognizing the efforts and sacrifices made by grassroots police officers in maintaining social order and protecting citizens' rights, and called on the government to prioritize fair treatment for these dedicated individuals.
