Lesotho is dispatching a high-level delegation to the US to advocate for reductions in tariffs that are adversely affecting its textile industry. Trade ministry spokesperson Lihaelo Nkaota emphasized the need for negotiations to start at zero tariffs, as the current 15% levy, introduced in August, has severely impacted local employment and exports. The textile sector, a major employer in Lesotho, is feeling the strain as it tries to cope with declining orders from US retailers.
