Li Yu Tan Reservoir Reaches 100% Capacity After 250 Days! Overflow of Sawtooth Weir Reappears

Reported 8 months ago

Li Yu Tan Reservoir, which supplies water to central areas such as Miaoli, Taichung, and north Changhua, reached 100% capacity on the morning of June 18, after 250 days. The reservoir has started overflowing, and with continued inflow due to water intake for power generation at the Zhuolan Power Plant upstream of the Da'an River, it is expected to see the overflow of the reservoir's sawtooth weir for about a week. The reservoir's sawtooth weir overflowed naturally after the water level reached 100% capacity, with inflow increasing due to recent heavy rains, allowing visitors to witness this spectacular scene.
