Liechtenstein Royals-Backed Lightrock Expands Investment into Public Stocks

Reported 4 months ago

Liechtenstein Royals-backed private equity firm Lightrock, supported by LGT Group of the Liechtenstein royal family, is entering the realm of publicly traded investments with a new strategy focusing on global small-cap stocks. The firm's new UCITS fund has already invested most of its €400 million seed money in 61 global stocks, primarily in the US, Europe, and Japan, with plans to target companies with market capitalizations ranging from €500 million to €20 billion. The fund, which emphasizes strong balance sheets and sustainability credentials, will be benchmarked against the MSCI World Small Cap Index and is expected to be capped at €3.5 billion to €4.5 billion due to liquidity constraints in small-cap stocks.
