Cathay, Nanshan, Shin Kong, Fubon, and Sampo Life Insurance have all announced bond issuances this year, with the total issuance reaching 208 billion yuan, a new record breaking the 200 billion yuan mark in history. Companies are seeking funds as the life insurance industry continues to compete for capital until 2026, with Fubon Life increasing its bond issuance quota by 500 billion yuan, reaching its highest annual issuance of 750 billion yuan. Major life insurers are turning to overseas bond issuance for larger funds, surpassing last year's annual total of 111 billion yuan with over 2 trillion yuan in bond issuances from six companies this year.
