Lin Shijie, chairman of a fisherman's association in the southern city district, was shot and killed with at least eleven bullets, leading authorities to suspect a dispute over significant interests as the motive behind the murder. Lin, who had been acquitted in a case involving intimidation and bribery, was seemingly living a normal life before the unexpected incident. Police are investigating various angles, including a possible link to a fire at an old fish market, but have yet to determine the exact motive of the assailant.
