Lin Youchang Criticizes Kuomintang for Emphasizing Only the Budget Act as Sharing Spoils, Condemns Fu Kun-chi's Proposal of 2 Trillion Leading to National Collapse

Reported 12 months ago

At the 'Anti-Authoritarianism, Protect Democracy' forum in Zhongli, Lin Youchang, the Secretary-General of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), criticized the Kuomintang for focusing solely on amending the Budget Act, while neglecting the Local Government Act and Administrative Division Act, claiming it as just a share of the spoils. Lin emphasized that due to investments and infrastructure projects during President Tsai Ing-wen's tenure, Taiwan has achieved success in the AI field. He further warned that with Kuomintang legislator Fu Kun-chi alone proposing a 2 trillion budget, which exceeds the national annual budget of 2.8 trillion, the country would collapse and the DPP would lack funds for national development and future investments.
