Ling Media's recent policy tracking series explored pedestrian safety issues finding an increase in pedestrian deaths in the first quarter of this year, with the highest increase in Hsinchu City and Taichung City. Premier Zuo raised the target of reducing the pedestrian death rate from 30% to 50%, emphasizing the importance of improving pedestrian safety to achieve the vision of 'Vision Zero' and creating a safe environment for pedestrians in Taiwan.
