Despite being a top coaching prospect this offseason, Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson decided to stay with the team instead of pursuing head coaching opportunities with other NFL teams. Johnson, at 36, cited his preference for staying in Detroit and enjoying the success the team is building, along with his desire for long-term stability and resources to be in place if he were to make the leap to head coach in the future. He believes that staying as a coordinator for now is beneficial in gaining experience and preparing for a potential head coaching role later on.
