During a recent visit by Minister of the Interior Liu Shifang to the Taipei City Government, assurances were given to actively assist the city government according to legal procedures. Mayor of Taipei City Jiang Wan'an responded to inquiries about whether this indicated a thaw in relations between the two officials, emphasizing that the primary concern is the welfare of the citizens and there is no issue of whether the ice was broken. This visit comes after differing opinions between Liu Shifang and Jiang Wan'an over the appointment of a Taipei City Police Commissioner. Despite initial dissatisfaction with the process, both sides expressed willingness to exchange views for the benefit of the city and its residents.
