Live Nation is investigating a data breach at its Ticketmaster subsidiary, where a criminal threat actor offered to sell Ticketmaster data on the dark web. Reports indicate that a hacking group named ShinyHunters claimed responsibility for the breach and was seeking $500,000 for customer data including names, addresses, phone numbers, and some credit card details. Live Nation stated they are cooperating with law enforcement, and the breach is unlikely to have a significant impact on their operations. This incident comes shortly after the U.S. Justice Department sued Live Nation and Ticketmaster for allegedly running an illegal monopoly in the live events industry.
