The New Taipei City Environmental Protection Bureau announced a joint effort with Keelung, Taipei, and Taoyuan to enhance noise vehicle inspections and crackdowns from July to September this year in an effort to protect residents' living environments. By leveraging night inspections and technological enforcement methods, the four cities aim to address the issue of noisy vehicles, with plans to suggest central law amendments to increase fines and strengthen noise source management. New Taipei City will continue its ‘Operation Noisy’ project this summer to combat noisy vehicles, with a total of 196 technological enforcement devices already in place across the city. The collaboration between environmental and police authorities saw 3,036 fines issued last year, with 1,385 fines and 76 inspections conducted so far this year as part of the ongoing crackdown.
