Taiwanese artist Cai Jialin, known as the 'local star,' returned to filming television dramas after a 2-year hiatus, impressing viewers with his fluent performance. He plays Lin Tianfu, a temple worker who communicates with deities, managing a breakfast shop with Wu Ali, portrayed by Yang Qionghua, to repay previous business debts. During a scene where Cai's character encounters a seemingly unconscious man on the road, he brings the man, Zeng Ziyi, back to his temple, leading to a possession by a deity in the plot. Cai, who respects deities in real life, insists on reporting to them before filming, emphasizing the seriousness of the matter. This marks his first time playing a character with unique abilities. Zeng, the actor playing the intoxicated man brought to the temple, noted that this was his first scene with Cai and appreciated the opportunity to learn from the seasoned actor, both being native to Yilan. They collaborated to add humor and enrich their characters, with Zeng suggesting additional physical gestures which Cai elegantly incorporated.
