Loews Corp announced a notable increase in its third-quarter profit, primarily attributed to a surge in investment income, which rose to $776 million from $592 million the previous year. The company's income attributed to Loews climbed to $401 million, or $1.82 per share, compared to $253 million, or $1.12 per share, last year. The strong performance of its insurance unit, CNA Financial, played a significant role, reporting a quarterly insurance premium rise to $2.59 billion.
