During a Sky-Liberty game, Angel Reese was oddly ejected following a minor dispute with a referee, earning a double-tech and the first ejection of her career. Lonzo Ball, present at the game, criticized the referee and offered to pay any fine Reese might face. The Sky expressed dismay with the call, with head coach Teresa Weatherspoon stating her attempt to get an explanation was unsuccessful. Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu even questioned the ejection.
