Following Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang being investigated for alleged forced crimes related to the Dong'an Market case, which has sparked strong public discontent, a movement to recall Xie is underway with only a little over 3,000 more petition signatures needed to proceed to the recall voting stage. As the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) accuses Xie of robbery, the Nationalist Party (KMT) defends him with a recent court ruling involving the NET-funded Dong'an Market, where Keelung City Government lost a lawsuit against additional construction fees claimed by Da-Ji Corporation and arguments continue regarding ownership rights.
