A chain of coffee shops in Mainland China recently experienced a series of conflicts between customers and employees. Female staff members lost control when pressured by customers, not only splashing coffee powder on customers but also pouring coffee on themselves as a form of self-punishment. Another male employee engaged in a verbal argument and physical altercation with a customer over waiting times. The incidents prompted an apology from the coffee shop, with the underlying cause being cost-cutting measures that led to overworking employees with low pay.
