At the KMT National Congress Reform Seminar in Taichung, Taichung Mayor Lu Xiu-Yan, who is rumored to run for KMT Chairmanship, was absent. KMT Chairman Eric Chu praised Lu Xiu-Yan as an outstanding mayor and one of KMT's most important cadres and leaders, encouraging everyone to work together. During the seminar, Eric Chu discussed KMT's parliamentary reform bills and upcoming legislative agenda. Lu Xiu-Yan was absent, sparking speculation about her potential candidacy, to which Chu reiterated his support for her and emphasized the need for unity within the KMT. Chu also addressed upcoming legislative proposals, such as amending the fiscal budget law and advocating for nuclear power plant extensions to address Taiwan's power shortage.
