Lula Calls for Petrobras to Eliminate Fuel Intermediaries to Protect Consumers

Reported 3 days ago

Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva urged state-run oil company Petrobras to eliminate intermediaries and sell fuel directly to consumers to reduce prices. Amid rising costs and declining popularity, Lula criticized gas stations and state taxes for overcharging compared to Petrobras prices. As part of efforts to expand its operations, Petrobras announced plans to enhance its fleet, including direct diesel sales to large customers, while investing 23 billion reais to modernize and grow its services.
