Brazil is shifting its inflation targeting regime to set a 3% goal on a continuous basis, starting from January 2025. President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva issued a decree outlining the new approach, where six consecutive months outside the target range will be deemed a failure. The current 3% goal with a tolerance range will be maintained, providing a solid foundation for inflation control according to Finance Minister Fernando Haddad.
