Lyle Menendez, who, along with his brother, murdered their parents in 1989, expressed aspirations for freedom during a recent call from prison, where he is serving a life sentence without parole. Menendez revealed he has been studying for a master's degree and working on reintegration plans with society as they seek reduced sentences under a new California law. He also mentioned forming therapy groups for inmates and working on creating living environments in prisons. The brothers' attorneys are arguing for a reduced conviction from murder to manslaughter.
