President Tsai Ing-wen established three major committees, including the Climate Change Committee, with Tongzi Xian, the chairperson of 'pro-nuclear' Wiwynn, serving as the vice convener, raising concerns among environmental groups about a potential shift in the government's nuclear energy stance. Former President Ma Ying-jeou also urged Tsai to 'seriously address nuclear energy with Tongzi Xian.' However, Minister of Economic Affairs Ke Wen-jei stated today that the President may be hoping to hear more opinions by appointing Tongzi Xian.
