Scotland's Robert MacIntyre won his first PGA Tour title at the RBC Canadian Open with his father Dougie as his caddie. Despite a shaky start, MacIntyre finished on 16 under par to secure the victory, thanking his father for teaching him golf and expressing his disbelief at achieving this milestone with him on the bag. The win also earned MacIntyre a £1.33m prize, making it the biggest financial win by a Scottish golfer at a single event. MacIntyre's father returned to Scotland after his son's success, and the victory secured MacIntyre's spot in the upcoming US Open.
