Maggie Hsu Admits Bringing Dragon Fruit Seedlings to Vietnam Caused Controversy, Issues Apology Statement in the Evening

On July 3, 2024, Maggie Hsu, a New Immigrant Party legislator, admitted to bringing red dragon fruit back to Vietnam for planting, causing an uproar. In the evening, she issued an apology statement, explaining that she was not familiar with the relevant laws and regulations at the time. Hsu shared the incident during a press conference in Taichung, where she had brought back red dragon fruit from Taiwan to Vietnam. The Minister of Agriculture called for respecting regulations to protect Taiwan's agricultural advantages and not exporting Taiwan's seedlings to other countries easily.
