Magnitude 4.9 Earthquake Hits Offshore Eastern Hualien with Maximum Intensity of 4

On June 18th, a magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck the eastern sea area of Taiwan at 11:46 AM, with the epicenter located 22.2 kilometers northeast of Hualien County Government, near the coast of Hualien County. The quake had a depth of 10 kilometers and the maximum intensity in Hualien was 4, while Yilan and Nantou experienced a maximum intensity of 3, and Taichung, Hsinchu, and Yunlin had a level of 2. The news was reported by CTWANT on June 18, 2024, at 12:20 AM.
