The Mainland Affairs Council Vice Chairman and Spokesperson Liang Wen-chieh explained that there were some misunderstandings regarding the Cross-Strait Forum between Nantou County and Hangzhou City, with reports of 9 mainland Chinese individuals being blocked from entering Taiwan for the event. Liang mentioned that there were misunderstandings in the process, as Nantou County did not take further action after the Ministry of Culture's suggestion to apply for the group's entry. While the forum is tentatively scheduled for September, there has been no clear response from the Chinese side. Liang also mentioned ongoing categorization and review of the types of professionals from China allowed to visit Taiwan.
