Wang Boqiang, manager of the Yuanta China Balanced Fund, observed the performance of the Mainland economy on June 29, 2024, at 4:10 pm. Recent statistical data revealed a relatively flat trend, with external demand being the main support while domestic demand showed a diverging trend. Both exports and manufacturing investment benefitted from the higher year-on-year growth rate in May. However, domestic demand remained weak, as reflected by the minimal increase in the Consumer Price Index and the ongoing price reductions in the automotive industry. Overall, the Mainland's economic indicators were lackluster, with the stock market fluctuating but some sectors showing positive performances.
