Mainland China's Second-hand Property Prices Decline for 26 Consecutive Months

Reported about 1 year ago

The China Index Research Institute reported on July 1, 2024, that while new residential housing prices in 100 cities rose in June due to the launch of quality projects, second-hand property prices continued to fall for the 26th consecutive month as homeowners rush to sell. The average price per square meter for new homes increased by 0.15% to 16,421 yuan, while second-hand homes decreased by 0.73% to 14,762 yuan in June. The hot second-hand property market in Shanghai led to record-breaking sales in June, attributed to the relaxation of housing policies on May 27, including lower down payments and interest rates.
