Mainland China Youth Unemployment Rate Ages 16-24 Decreases for Third Consecutive Month

Reported 5 months ago

According to the latest data from China's National Bureau of Statistics, the unemployment rate for labor force aged 16 to 24, excluding students, dropped to 13.2% in June, a decrease of 1 percentage point from May and marking a seven-month low. This decrease is the third consecutive month of decline. However, officials emphasize that despite the positive trend, challenges in overall employment levels and structural contradictions persist, necessitating continued efforts to strengthen employment policies and mechanisms, particularly for key groups like university graduates and migrant workers, while actively fostering new job growth points to enhance employment quality and quantity.
