Mainland Coast Guard Detains Taiwanese Fishing Boat / MAC Speaks Out 'Suspected Violation of Regulations'

The Mainland Affairs Council (MAC) stated that the incident was suspected to involve violations of seasonal fishing regulations on the mainland, and they will seek clarification from the mainland on the reasons for the boarding and detainment to dispel unnecessary speculations. MAC hopes for a prompt release of the detained individuals and the boat following the clarification of reasons by the Chinese authorities.
