Amid escalating tensions between both sides of the strait, the Mainland Coast Guard dispatched 4 Chinese coast guard ships into Taiwan's Kinmen restricted waters on June 25. In response, the Taiwan Coast Guard Administration swiftly deployed patrol boats to drive them away from the restricted zone. With the possibility of such incidents recurring, the Taiwan Coast Guard Administration issued a stern statement on June 26, vowing to defend the country's sovereignty at all costs. Deputy Director of the Coast Guard Administration, Xie Qingqin, stated that from January to June 25 this year, they had driven away 835 mainland ships and conducted checks on 7 vessels, emphasizing the unwavering determination in law enforcement. Xie also criticized China for creating disputes in the Pacific Ocean and reaffirmed Taiwan's commitment to controlling related situations and responding promptly while condemning any improper enforcement methods or disturbances.
