Mainlander Drives Speedboat into Danshui River, KMT Criticizes DPP for Empty Rhetoric on Taiwan's Security

Reported 10 months ago

A man of mainland Chinese descent drove a speedboat into the mouth of the Danshui River, collided with a ferry at the Danshui Ferry Terminal, and was eventually arrested by the Coast Guard at the Fisherman's Wharf on June 9. The KMT spokesperson questioned whether the DPP only knows how to vocally proclaim 'resist China' without knowing how to actually 'protect Taiwan.' The breach of the national border at such a crucial point raises concerns about the security of the country. The KMT spokesperson emphasized the necessity for concrete measures to safeguard national security beyond mere political slogans in the face of continued tensions in cross-strait relations under the DPP government.
