The three largest U.S. drug distributors, McKesson, Cencora, and Cardinal Health, have agreed to a $300 million settlement to resolve claims by health insurers that they contributed to the opioid epidemic. This settlement, revealed in a federal court filing, follows their prior agreement to pay $21 billion to states and local governments over lax controls on opioid distribution. The funds will be allocated among the distributors, without any admission of wrongdoing.
