Majority of Australian Boomers Lacking Sufficient Retirement Funds

Reported 24 days ago

A recent study reveals that nearly two-thirds of Australian baby boomers do not have the necessary pension savings for a comfortable retirement. The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia noted that only about 30% of retirees can afford a decent lifestyle, with current median pension balances falling short of the A$690,000 target for couples. As the pension system matures, it is predicted that more retirees will meet the savings benchmark, but many current retirees may still rely on government support due to insufficient savings.
