According to a recent survey by the Beautiful Island Electronic News, 50.2% of people lack confidence in Taiwan's electricity supply, while 64.1% support the extension of nuclear power. However, Minister of Economic Affairs Guo Zhuhui has repeatedly stated that Taiwan has sufficient electricity. Legislator Huang Kuo-chang believes the new government must clarify its energy policy instead of just using slogans, criticizing the government for lacking answers and resorting to empty rhetoric when addressing renewable energy issues. Huang emphasized the seriousness of energy policies and warned against governing based on ideology, excuses like power outages, or endangering the people. Despite Taiwan Power Company's assurance of adequate electricity supply, the survey indicates that 50.2% of people still doubt its reliability.
