Malawi's government has reported that a presidential plane carrying current Vice President Saulos Chilima and 9 other passengers has gone missing, with speculations from the military that the plane may have crashed. Following the disappearance, search operations were launched to locate the aircraft. Initial reports suggested all 10 on board had perished, but later the government discredited the information as false and announced a press conference for further details.
