A 2-year-old Malayan tapir named 'Hero' from Yokohama Zoo, Japan, intended for breeding exchange in Taiwan, was discovered lifeless upon arrival on June 21, upsetting Taipei Zoo's plans. The zoo confirmed the news and stated that experts will perform an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.
