Malayan tapir 'Hideo Hero' from Yokohama Zoo in Japan died upon arrival in Taiwan due to heatstroke and subsequent whole-body failure. The tapir was expected to participate in a bloodline exchange at the Taipei Zoo after being transported from Japan but was found unresponsive at the airport and pronounced dead the following day.
