Malaysian Community Learning Center Helps Youngsters Achieve Education Dreams

Reported 8 months ago

As of June 18, 2024, refugee children in Malaysia now have the opportunity to receive basic education through community learning centers. However, after completing primary and secondary school, opportunities for further education including higher education are scarce. Sixteen-year-old Pakistani teenager Johnnias is currently studying the Cambridge International High School curriculum at a non-governmental educational institution, an achievement that stands out. Having learned the importance of contemplation and humility during primary school, he is now excelling in physics, advanced mathematics, and chemistry. Supported by the Children's Dignity Foundation, Johnnias is recommended for financial aid from Tzu Chi to ease the burden on his single mother. His journey from the Tzu Chi Learning Center to high school has been marked by academic excellence and personal growth, shaping his dream of becoming a chemist.
