Malfunction Causes 16 Visitors to be Trapped in the Air on G5 Ride at Jian Lake Mountain Theme Park, Park Reveals Malfunction Reason

On June 29, 2024, at 3:10 AM, Jian Lake Mountain Theme Park in Yunlin experienced a malfunction with the 'G5 Flying Submarine' ride, leaving 16 visitors stranded in mid-air. The malfunction was caused by a decrease in external power supply voltage, leading to the system detecting an abnormal shutdown. With the help of park personnel, the visitors were able to escape via a work ladder. The G5 ride, spanning 384 meters in length and reaching heights of 65 meters at a speed of 110 km/h, provides an intense experience for thrill-seekers. The incident, captured in a video, showcased visitors safely evacuating from the ride. After around 20 minutes, the facility was back in operation following investigations revealing the cause to be the voltage drop in the external power supply.
