Reported about 1 year ago
A man surnamed Chen received a military service call-up last year but was absent without a valid reason, claiming he had a fever the night before and forgot to ask for leave due to feeling unwell on the day of duty. Consequently, he was prosecuted for obstructing military service. After trial, the Taoyuan District Court ruled that his actions disrupted the national conscription system and effective management of military service, sentencing him to two months in prison or a fine. Despite admitting receiving the call-up notice, he failed to report on time and neglected to submit any evidence or notify the authorities, leading to the legal consequences.
