A man surnamed Shi and others working at a foreign advertising company's Taiwan branch are accused of assisting a fraud group in placing fake investment ads online and in news media, earning over 380 million New Taiwan dollars in commissions through virtual currency. The Northern Prosecutors' Office has charged Shi and three others with aggravated fraud. Shi, while working for Debo Company, helped the fraud group place fake investment ads online and receive commissions in virtual currency. The group drew in investments through exaggerated claims and false endorsements by prominent financial experts, fraudulently obtaining over 380 million NTD. Prosecutors revealed the scheme involved transferring funds in virtual currency to Shi's shell company, who then converted the funds to NTD, deducted a 10% commission, and transferred the remainder to Debo Company's account.
