In Taipei, a man assaulted a taxi driver after the driver refused payment for a short free ride to a nearby intersection. The passenger felt insulted by the driver’s refusal to take money and proceeded to physically attack him, causing a commotion that was witnessed by onlookers. The assailant, who had a criminal record, ultimately had to pay a fine of 20,000 NT dollars for the assault.
