In Taipei, a man surnamed Zheng, unhappy with being restrained by the police, drunkenly rode his motorcycle back to the police station with a bottle of gasoline, intending to set fire to it in anger. The police were alerted and managed to stop him, avoiding a potentially serious incident. Zheng, in his 50s, had initially caused a disturbance while intoxicated on the metro, leading to his restraint by the authorities. Apart from drunk driving charges, he now faces charges of endangering public safety and obstructing official duties.
