The New Taipei City Animal Protection Department received a report of a man assaulting a black stray dog with an iron rod at a gas station in Shulin. The dog crawled away in pain but the man continued to relentlessly beat it for over 10 minutes until bystanders intervened and reported the incident. The injured dog was promptly taken to an animal hospital for treatment. The man's identity will be investigated and fined accordingly for violating animal protection laws.
