In Taoyuan District, a 29-year-old man surnamed Chen and another man surnamed Wu had previous conflicts. In the early hours of January 11 last year, Chen learned that Wu and his friends were having supper at a hotpot restaurant on Zhongzheng Road. Chen, along with Yang and seven others, armed with a watermelon knife and clubs, attacked Wu and two others, causing injuries before fleeing. The Taoyuan District Prosecutor's Office concluded their investigation yesterday and charged Chen and six others with disrupting public order, while two others remain at large. Thankfully, the injuries sustained during the unexpected attacks did not endanger their lives.
