Reported about 1 year ago
A sixtysomething man in China collapsed at home and was found to have parasites infecting his brain, a result of his habit of drinking raw pig blood for the past 5-6 years to stay healthy. Doctors diagnosed him with neurocysticercosis, commonly found in adults who consume pork containing tapeworm eggs. After undergoing three parasite treatments, the man's symptoms of dizziness and headaches have improved. The incident serves as a cautionary tale against consuming raw pork products and alternative remedies.
