In New Taipei City, a man who owed 1.8 million in gambling debts was imprisoned and beaten by debt collectors. He attempted to escape by climbing out of a bathroom window but accidentally fell from the 8th floor to his death. Initially thought to be a suicide, the police investigation revealed a complex situation involving debtors who had detained and assaulted him. Two suspects were arrested at the scene, with two others still at large. The victim's injuries indicated severe beating before the fall, shedding light on a debt collection turned deadly.
