A 52-year-old man surnamed Li in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, was surrounded and subdued by police officers after pretending to cooperate but attempting to flee. During the confrontation, Li suddenly foamed at the mouth and lost consciousness. Despite receiving CPR at the scene and being rushed to the hospital, he was pronounced dead. Urine tests showed he was positive for methamphetamine. Li had a criminal record involving drugs, violence, and vandalism. The exact cause of death is still under investigation.
